Episode transcript
Hello everyone! This is Parya, an English teacher based in Tokyo, and you are listening to Episode Zero of English Airs, the podcast that will give you effortless accuracy.
If you are confused about similar things in English, if you are frustrated that you are not making progress, or if you don’t know how or when to study in your busy life, then you are the one I am making this podcast for.
In this episode I will talk about 4 things:
One: Who I am.
Two: What English Airs is, and Why I decided to make it.
Three: Who can use this podcast.
and
Four: How to make the most of it.
Let’s start with me:
Hello again, my name is Parya. Nice to meet you, kind of! I learned English from movies and books, starting when I was 10. In 2000, I started teaching English as a part-time job, I loved it, and soon decided to make it my career. My students are now all over the world and some of them have become great friends. On my website, englishairs.com, you can find out more about me. If you want! But now, let’s talk about more important things!
So, what is English Airs? In short, it is a troubleshooting podcast for English learners. Over the years, my students have had many problems, but these problems usually have very simple solutions. I decided to give these solutions to more people. More than my students. But who?
Any English learner, from elementary level to upper-intermediate. I will use simple English and speak at a natural, slow pace, so it will be easy to understand, and I hope it will be fun!
Now we get to the most important part: how to make the most of this podcast. Well, here is my advice:
First, listen to it more than once. Each episode will be short, so it will not take too much of your time. Listening more than once will help you remember the topic much easier.
Second, try to answer the questions I ask. If you can, answer out loud. Try to give new answers every time you listen to each episode. You will get lots and lots of practice! If you are not sure about your answer, you can write a comment, and I will help.
And finally, at the end of each episode, I will give you some tips to practice without spending a lot of time. Please use them, and tell me about it. I would love to hear that!
Well, that’s it. This is Parya, an English teacher, and I made this troubleshooting English podcast to help students from elementary to upper-intermediate. If you listen many times and answer the questions in the episode, you will become more fluent and accurate with each episode, I promise. There are also tips for practicing English even if your life is super busy. I hope this helps!
If you want to help me, leave comments, suggestions, and questions. You can do that on my website, or where you get your podcast. I will use them to make better episodes, and please suggest the podcast to anyone who can use it. That would be great, thanks!
Until next time, bye!
