“I want to improve my vocabulary.” “I understand the meaning of each word, but what does this sentence mean?!!” “I want to watch movies without subtitles.”
If you can see yourself in these, then these workshops are for you.
Here, we learn everyday words, expressions, and idioms on various topics. You see things in a context and think “Oh! So that’s how it’s used!”
Every time you take part in one of these workshops, you understand the culture better. What is the result? You can understand other words easier and learn them faster. I promise!
What do we do in 40 minutes? (You will get the script for each session in advance) 1. Watch the movie for about 5 minutes. (Depending on the number of words) 2. Go over the script and check some words, expressions, and cultural points. 3. Watch the next 5 minutes and continue.
Important! The workshops are all in English and are not intended for beginners. I will not speak too fast, and will not use very difficult words. But, these workshops will only be useful to you if you have taken at least 180 hours of lessons. If you remember what you have learned at school, you can count that as well!
Have you listened to “I’ll stand by you” by The Pretenders? No? You should! It’s full of great phrases and had a lot of interesting themes for our discussion last Wednesday. We talked, we learned English, and we shared our experiences in support and friendship. Oh, and we missed you! Learning English with The Pretenders was great!
We enjoyed the song! The most important thing!
Everyone participated! We talked about keywords and the synonyms.
The discussions were the most interesting part!
We saw what the support language is, and we added our own words!
You missed it? You are interested in other songs? no worries! Check here to find out future ones, or request a song, movie, or TV show at the bottom of this page!

Parya!
I loved when you wrote some points there in the chat box.
Guess that’s enjoyable and interesting and helps remembering the new words or things.

I have gotten addicted to the sessions.
Now I do believe 45 min is much better than an hour.
